Terrace House in Singapore Replaces Entire Front Wall With…Boomerangs?

Terrace House Renovation in Singapore

Want to give your halls more natural ventilation? Just take away the entire front wall of your house. That’s what this family did in Singapore.

Done by Hyla Architects, this 3-storey terrace house renovation replaced its front elevation with timber strips that can rotate.

Each strip has a cross section like a boomerang, helping it deflect wind on one side.

Depending on wind direction, they can simply rotate the strips to ensure maximum breeze entering the house.

This also gives the facade an ever changing pattern that corresponds to the mood of its users.
