Caryn wanted to hold her wedding ceremony outdoors, with the idea to have a garden ceremony followed by a banquet dinner. With all the planning that needed to take place, she decided to engage the services of Milestones.my<\/a>\u00a0to make sure everything got done in time.<\/p>\n

It was a relationship that started a decade ago, over ICQ.<\/p>\n

Caryn hails from Ipoh, Malaysia, but now works full-time in Singapore. Her husband, Ivan, was working the night shift in IT support when they met.<\/p>\n

But that didn’t stop him from pursuing her. Their relationship grew over long messaging sessions, a mutual love of scuba diving and travel, and in 2013, transformed into a wedding engagement.<\/p>\n

A Passion for Weddings<\/h2>\n

A highly-recommended wedding planning services provider on Recommend.my<\/a>, Milestones.my got its start in 2012. But it’s founder, Hui Mun Tzin, has been planning weddings since 2008.<\/p>\n

Having a wedding planner meant that Caryn could finally focus on the key decisions for her big day without a million different tasks getting in the way.<\/p>\n

“The team helped me settle the venue, find the right invitation cards, hire an emcee, magician, decorators, photographer, and a thousand other items.”<\/p>\n

The garden wedding was held at the Cyberiew Resort and Spa in Cyberjaya. “They worked with the got me a beautiful archway and a picture-perfect setting where we exchanged our vows,” she added.<\/p>\n

Milestones also helped Caryn choose a theme for the wedding, and negotiated with the hotel to get her the\u00a0look she wanted, from table linen to chair covers.<\/p>\n

“She worked with the\u00a0hotel’s florist to get the flower arrangements just right, within the package cost. They also got the door gift that I wanted, instead of the one that came with the hotel wedding package.”<\/p>\n

Mun Tzin also provided valuable input on the variations in customs for Chinese wedding, depending on the dialect group.<\/p>\n

A well-oiled machine on the actual day<\/h2>\n

“They worked out the day’s program to the tiniest detail.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

During the afternoon activities, the team stationed one person with the groom, and the rest with the bride, and kept in constant contact to make sure everything was well coordinated.<\/p>\n

That evening, for\u00a0seating arrangements, the Milestones team provided not one, but three different guest lists; ordered by table, alphabetically,\u00a0and by groups, allowing everyone to find their seat easily.<\/p>\n

They also liaised with all the vendors, bridesmaids and the groomsmen so everyone knew where they needed to be.<\/p>\n

“They even had the forethought of asking the hotel to ‘tar pau’ the food that my husband and I didn’t get to eat during the toasting round, and sent it to our room for supper!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From playing the\u00a0music and slideshows, to taking care of the bride’s gown and belongings, to keeping the angpows safe, the team spared the family a great deal of worry, and allowed them to celebrate and enjoy the big day.<\/p>\n
