{"id":2371,"date":"2015-04-24T23:34:52","date_gmt":"2015-04-24T15:34:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.recomn.com\/blog\/?p=2371"},"modified":"2024-09-29T10:01:57","modified_gmt":"2024-09-29T02:01:57","slug":"messy-home-creative-mind-interior-design","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.recommend.my\/blog\/messy-home-creative-mind-interior-design\/","title":{"rendered":"If Your Home is Messy, it Just Means You Have a Creative Mind."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Sorry ah, my house so messy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is the standard &#8220;disclaimer&#8221; we give when we welcome guests to our home.<\/p>\n<p>But what if a messy house was actually a sign that you have a creative mind?<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.psychologicalscience.org\/index.php\/news\/releases\/tidy-desk-or-messy-desk-each-has-its-benefits.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a> done by the Association of Psychological Science, researchers found a difference in the way people behaved, depending on how messy their desk was.<\/p>\n<p>The results of the research?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>If you have a neat and tidy desk, you tend to follow conventional thinking.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>If you have a messy desk, you get more new and creative ideas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In the experiment, people were asked to generate new ways to use ping pong balls. The people in the messy environment ended up generating more interesting ideas.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Disorderly environments seem to inspire breaking free of tradition, which can produce fresh insights,\u201d \u00a0said psychological scientist Kathleen Vohs. &#8220;Orderly environments, in contrast, encourage convention and playing it safe.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And this does not just apply to the desk alone. &#8220;We are all exposed to various kinds of settings, such as in our office space, our homes, our cars, even on the Internet,&#8221; Vohs observes. &#8220;Whether you have control over the tidiness of the environment or not, you are exposed to it and our research shows it can affect you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>&#8220;Messy&#8221; can be used in home interior design too<\/h2>\n<p>Since we no longer have to worry about keeping our homes too orderly, why not see if these &#8220;messy&#8221; designs will work for you?
