The unit was closed up and likely poorly ventilated during the tenant's absence, which may have worsened mold growth even if the underlying leak is minor. Inspection needed: 1. Identify water source/entry point - check the window frame and seals in that corner, and the exterior wall/render on the other side for cracks or damage 2. Check for any plumbing or pipework running through or behind that wall 3. Assess ceiling corner above the stain for upper-floor leak sources if applicable 4. Determine extent of moisture penetration into the wall to see if it's surface-level or has affected internal structure/insulation 5.
